Job Description

We have a vacancy for the position of a Chef / Cook at our John Munroe Hospital, Rudyard site.

And a vacancy for the position of Chef / Cook at our Edith Shaw Hospital, Leek

The main purpose of the Chef / cooks role is to assist in the preparation of all patients' meals, making sure that they provide a range of nutritional value, as well as ensuring that the kitchen is a safe and hygienic place to work and meeting the Food Safety guidelines

Specific tasks of the Chef / cook role include, but are not limited to:

Preparation of patient's meals

Assist in serving meals to Patients and understanding specific food requirements

Supervision of and delegation of work to the Kitchen Assistant's whilst on duty.

Complying with statutory and legal requirements, such as Health and Safety, COSHH and Environmental Health to maintain a safe environment.

Store and rotate stock appropriately

The ideal cook applicant will have knowledge of basic food preparation, stock control as well as the ability to use and maintain essential catering and cleaning products.

All chef / cook appointments are subject to the following:

An enhanced DBS and two references.

Plus the John Munroe Group has a zero tolerance towards recreational drugs and use of alcohol at work.

All staff may be subject to a drug test on commencement of employment.
