High Ash - Female Bungalow

Situated on the site of the John Munroe Hospital, Rudyard, High Ash Female 'Locked' Bungalow is a 5 bedded, intermediate, mental health rehabilitation facility.

High Ash is a female only, five bedded intermediate rehabilitation bungalow and is situated within the extensive hospital grounds, independent from the main hospital. The bungalow has its own therapy kitchen/dining room, lounge and extensive garden facilities. Patients are encouraged to develop independent life skills such as budgeting, preparing meals and laundry.

The unit is staffed by two care staff and one qualified nurse who oversees this unit and the Larches Male Bungalow.

Admission Criteria for High Ash Female 'Locked' Bungalow

Our service user profile reflects the specialist input of our clinicians and includes:

• Adults and older people, aged 18+ with a severe and enduring mental illness, detained for treatment under the Mental Health Act (1983) or court orders.
• Co-morbidity- where alcohol or substance abuse exist alongside a mental illness
• Informal service users with severe and enduring mental health problems (18+)
• Service users who primary diagnosis of mental illness (including personality disorders) and a secondary diagnosis of learning disability.
• Service users who have a mental illness and co morbidity physical condition such as diabetes or hypotension.
• Patients for whom a mild Learning Disability is a secondary diagnosis coupled alongside a diagnosis of mental illness.

We do not admit to the unit:

• Males
• Children (below the age of 18 years)
• Patients with Eating disorders as a primary diagnosis
• Patients with Moderate to Severe Learning disability as a primary diagnosis
• Patients with a primary diagnosis of paedophillia or sexual deviance
