Mental Health Support Worker Location :

John Munroe Hospital, Rudyard, ST13 8RU

Edith Shaw Hospital, Leek, ST13 5PE

We offer all our mental health support workers the opportunity to progress.

The options that are available are apprenticeships – NVQ’s 2 and 3 which can lead to Trainee Nurse Associate Apprenticeships – Nursing associate is a new role within the nursing team. Nursing associates work with healthcare support workers and registered nurses to deliver care for patients and the public.

And if you have a psychology degree we sometimes have opportunities to become a psychology assistant.

Mental Health Support Worker Salary Range:

  • CSW Level 1 – Day £9.29 per hour / Night £10.50 per hour (No qualifications or less than 3 years experience in care)
  • CSW Level 2 – Day £9.84 per hour / Night £11.05 per hour (Qualification NVQ Level 2 or 3 (+ one years’ experience) in Care or 3 years’ experience working in a care setting)
  • Senior Clinical Support Worker – Day £10.19 per hour / Night £11.40 (Level 3 Qualification in Care and 3 years’ experience working in a care setting)
  • Hours of Work : Full time is 14 shifts per 28 days (including 2 weekends).
  • We also offer our Mental Health Support Workers excellent overtime opportunities: Currently paid at time and a half.

Brief overview of the organisation:

The John Munroe Hospital Group has 70 beds and is situated in the Staffordshire Moorlands. The Group provides care for patients with challenging behaviours and enduring mental illness, who may also be detained under section 3 of the 1983 Mental Health Act.

Please note John Munroe Hospital in based in Rudyard (which is a rural location) –

therefore there are no direct bus routes. You will need to be able to drive or to be dropped off and picked up.

The mental health support worker applicants will be trained MAYBO method of de-escalation.
