Current rates of pay :
£19.33 per hour for day shift (which includes annual leave)
£21.49 per hour for night shift (which includes annual leave).
Shifts are currently long days and nights.
Please note John Munroe Hospital in based in Rudyard (which is a rural location) – therefore there are no direct bus routes. If you can get a bus to Leek, Staffordshire, we (the JMG) will look at paying for a taxi to get you from Leek to Rudyard. Please ask Human Resources for more details on this service.
The John Munroe Hospital Group has 71 beds, split over 6 units and is situated in the Staffordshire Moorlands. The Group provides care for patients with severe and enduring mental illness, who may also be detained under section 3 of the 1983 Mental Health Act.
You will need to be enthusiastic and well motivated to join our friendly team. You will have excellent communication skills, and enjoy working with patients who may present with challenging behaviours and enduring mental health problems.
You will also have good people management skills as you will be required to manage a team of clinical support workers to ensure quality care is delivered and will be able to deal with situations that may arise effectively.
We are dedicated to providing a patient centred approach to care including individual care planning and effective management plans through evidence based practice. You will be pivotal in facilitating the team to work effectively in order to help each individual patient achieve their full potential.
Please note that this can be a physically demanding role due to the nature of the patient group and the fact that you will be trained in the Management of Actual and Potential Aggression (MAPA) method of de-escilation and physical restraint – so please take this into consideration before applying
