Brochure for John Munroe Hospital: johnmunroehospital-brochure (004)
We support our service users by setting out a behavioural management plan led by an allocated Consultant Psychiatrist who specialises in organic illnesses and is a former deputy chair of the faculty of old age psychiatrists.
All of our staff endeavour to provide useful, constructive and supporting activities to help prevent boredom, which can be a trigger for self-damaging or aggressive behaviours in people with dementia. One of the underlying principles of the John Munroe Groups’ care philosophy is to provide a community and meaningful ways to spend time for patients whilst in the unit.
We also have sensory equipment such as the Magic Table – the games provide adults, older people and children with a specific care need with activities that are meaningful and above all lots of fun!
The service is dementia friendly and incorporates the latest dementia friendly signs and decor to ensure that our patients group stay is as therapeutic as possible.
We offer our male cohort the opportunity to work with male only staff where possible as we know working with female staff can at times be unsettling and distressing at times.
At the John Munroe Group we are always looking at ways in which we can improve our care and treatments for our patient groups, which is why we always welcome feedback (please click here for more details):
